The liver is in control of maintaining the proper blood values. This is extremely important, otherwise the body would constantly bleed or form blood clots due to blood becoming too thick. Through very complex processes, the liver keeps the blood at the correct level. Anything that affects liver function can therefore have major consequences for the entire body.
